MUSICIANS ELEANOR AND FLETCHER COOLIDGE JOIN STAFF AT HOLY COMMUNION EPISCOPAL CHURCH

On March 1st, 2007, two of the area's most acclaimed and respected musicians, Eleanor and Fletcher Coolidge, moved their considerable talents from St. Benedict's in Fontana to Holy Communion Episcopal Church in Lake Geneva. Eleanor has joined Holy Communion's staff as Musical Director and Organist. Fletcher is Choir Director. Both the Coolidges are helping Holy Communion develop the kind of multi-dimensional music program that succeeded so well at St. Benedict's.

Mr. Coolidge stated that "leaving St. Benedict's was one of the tougher decisions we've ever made - Eleanor has been there 25 years and I've been there 19. But it seemed time to try a new challenge and we decided that we needed the renewal that building a new program could provide."

Fr. James Kaestner of Holy Communion stated, "We've been searching for a very long time for someone to develop the kind of music program the Coolidges are noted for and we feel truly blessed to have them." He hopes the Coolidges' close relationship with St. Benedict's will contribute to an even closer relationship between both churches. In addition to answering the many demands of church work, Eleanor is also the rehearsal accompanist for Southern Lakes Masterpiece Chorale and the Janesville Choral Union and a founding member of the chamber music group, Trio d'Amies. Fletcher also sings with both chorale groups and trombone for the Beloit-Janesville Symphony, Jack Farina's Band, and the brass quintet, Brassa Nova. The couple are longtime Delavan residents. Choir practice at Holy Communion Episcopal Church will be Wednesday evenings at 7PM and before services on Sundays at 8:45 a.m. Sunday services are at 9:30 AM. The church is located at 320 Broad Street, Lake Geneva. For more information, please call 262-248-3522.
